I feel fortunate to have grown up in a home that celebrated the arts. From trips to art museums to creating arts and crafts at the kitchen table, I grew up with art as a fundamental part of everyday life. My childhood experiences and exposure surely fostered my decision to study art history and design in college. I later chose to share my love of art with children and studied to become an art teacher. I have been promoting my belief in art and art appreciation as an integral part of the life experience for children and adults for over a decade.
In addition to teaching art, I have continued to create art on my own. I have always taken great pleasure in exploring new and unfamiliar art media. For the past five years, I have focused my creative energies on developing and refining my jewelry-making skills. Through the process of designing my hand-cut sterling silver jewelry, I am interested in exploring the interplay of positive and negative shapes primarily found in nature. I strive to create delicate pieces of wearable jewelry with a special attention to appealing organic shapes and clean lines. It is my sincere aspiration to bring a little piece of art into your everyday life with my jewelry.
I currently reside in Austin, TX with my husband Tim and our dog, Molly.
